Picacho Mountain builders and future residents proved they are “Tough Enough to Wear Pink” Sat. Sept. 29, as they joined together to raise money for cancer research and support NMSU Aggie football at the first annual Picacho Mountain Resident Tailgate Party.

This event marked Picacho Mountain’s first official community event. Future Picacho Mountain residents enjoyed barbeque at the tailgate party, an exciting night of NMSU Aggie football, and had a chance to make friends and get to know future neighbors.

“One of our core values at Picacho Mountain is to build community,” said Bob Pofahl, developer. “It was so exciting for us to see residents connecting and meeting one another. We are looking forward to many great events like this in the future.”

Over 15,000 fans turned out Saturday at the NMSU Aggies are “Tough Enough to Wear Pink” event. The stadium was flooded with pink as Aggie fans showed their support for Cancer research. The event raised more than $225,000 for cancer research, which set a new record for the national “Tough Enough to Wear Pink” campaign.

“Cancer is something that has touched the life of almost every American,” said Pofahl. “We felt privileged that Picacho Mountain could be part of raising support to fight the disease.” To find out more about the national “Tough Enough to Wear Pink” campaign, visit www.toughenoughtowearpink.com .
